Shincha

Shincha is only produced once a year, during spring in Japan. It comes from the first harvest of the year and is immediately packaged and made ready for sale, unlike other teas which are put into cold storage to remain fresh. As a result, shincha is a tea that is very seasonal and commands higher prices than other green teas; but try it and the experience of tasting something so fresh is bound to make you feel that it was worth every penny. ps. 2010's shincha harvest is just around the corner, and O-Cha have a limited pre-order discount of 10%. A light-steamed shincha with a seductive aroma of white chocolate and berries and slender leaves resembling broken pine leaves.

The syrupy sweetness of blackcurrant is met by the tartier overtones of tropical fruits. A heavenly, extraordinary tea from Japan's first flush.

From O-Cha comes this fine sencha with an aroma that reminds me of blackcurrant and a forest floor. A revitalizing, vegetal brew.
