Organic Hojicha Green Tea

My Review

Mighty Leaf Tea’s Organic Hojicha is a mixture of stalks and leaves, roasted to give them a dark bronze colour and a rich aroma of berries and chocolate. The liquor, by contrast, is a greenish yellow. Those berry flavours are still there, but the tea has a more savoury, grassy flavour than the aroma would have suggested. To be honest, after the rich aromas of the dry leaf, it’s hard not to be a little disappointed in how the tea tastes: this one certainly smells better than it tastes. But it still makes a great every-day kind of tea, and would go down well with a meal.

I originally reviewed this tea on my blog: Organic Hojicha from Mighty Leaf Tea.

Come and enjoy a pu-erh that starts slow but blossoms around the third infusion with a surge of sweet smokiness.
