I’m not sure how it happened. It belies logic. They’re strange, these associations our mind creates.

But here’s the thing: I associate Narien Tea’s Narien Teas’ Earl Grey with Helvetica Neue font.

As I said, it makes no sense. At first, when I realized my mind had drawn this connection between a tea and a font, I though maybe there was some qualitative similarity between the two. Are they both robust? Nuanced?

To be honest, I don’t think that’s it. I don’t think my appreciation for typography is quite such that I’d be able to draw links like that. Instead, I’m guessing that the connection came at some point while I was redesigning this blog, choosing the main font while sipping a cup of Earl Grey. Somehow, since then, there’s this subconscious link between one particular company’s blend of Earl Grey and the font you’re looking at right now (provided you’re not reading this post in a feed reader or email inbox).

Which leads me to ask: What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever associated with tea?
