Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving isn’t something we celebrate here in Australia, though a few weeks ago an American friend of ours invited us around for an early Thanksgiving, turkey and all.
But I’ve had plenty of reminders of Thanksgiving over the past week. That’s what happens when you subscribe to a lot of newsletters. As a result I’ve become aware of a few sales running over the next few days. If you’re looking at buying tea (or tea gifts) anytime soon, now is a great time to do so. Here’s why:
So call me slow, but over the past week I’ve seen a few different tea sellers promoting some great specials. If you’re looking to buy some tea, now’s the time!
There are a few exciting things going on in the world of tea at the moment. Fellow tea bloggers Griffin Kelton (from Tea Time Tuesday) and Tony Gebley (from World of Tea) launched a tea community earlier this week, called The Tea Roundtable. I signed up but haven’t had time to post anything yet, though it’s clear there’s a real buzz around the forums. That may be due to the site’s current competition: the first person to post 25 times in the forums will win themselves a year’s supply of tea from Narien Teas. Nice one!
The other thing that I quickly wanted to mention is that The Tea Spot have slashed 30% off their Vintage Oolong, which is a single-estate, medium-bodied oolong from Taiwan. Here’s how The Tea Spot describe their tea:
With a sweet, nutty flavor, this tea captures the subtlety of what amazing, full–leaf tea should taste like. Hints of ripe apricots and lilacs combine to produce a tender, timeless green oolong; hence the name! This tea yields a bright, amber liquor and should be re–steeped multiple times. Each successive steeping will unveil new flavors & aromas, until the leaves are fully opened. Delicate, refined, and understated – this is the true connoisseur’s tea!
Head over to The Tea Spot now.

While browsing through Mighty Leaf’s website in preparation for the review I just posted, I noticed that they have a great offer on for people who haven’t tried their tea pouches before: Buy your first tea pouches from Mighty Leaf and get 25% off.
There are actually three separate offers – one for herbal tea, another for black tea
and a third for green tea
.
Yogic Chai, the Chai specialists, are offering 20% off any of their blends at the moment. The discount offer is valid before June 22 – after that, they’re closing shop till July 25 while they’re on holidays.
